Arch of Friendship

The Arch of Friendship was constructed in 1982 by a sculptor A. Skoblikov and an architect I. Ivanov. It is a huge, 50 m (164 ft) in diameter, rainbow-shaped arch, made of titanium.
Underneath the Arch there are two statues: one is made of bronze and depicts a Russian and Ukrainian workers holding up the Soviet Order of Friendship of Peoples and the other is made of granite and depicts the participants of the Pereyaslav Council in 1654.
There is a viewing deck where most of the east bank, Troeschina and towards the north of the city, Podil and Obolon can be seen.
