Monument to Yaroslav the Wise

Close to the Golden Gates, in a small public garden, there is the monument to Yaroslav the Wise. The construction of the fortification system and the entire Kiev in the 11th-12th centuries is connected with the name of this prince. The monument, established in 1997, is a bronze copy of a figurine made by I. Kavaleridze before. It is a statue of the prince holding a model of St. Sophia Cathedral in his hands.
